Hi, I'm new here.

Hi, I'm new here.
It's the Waymarkers first backdrop.

I closed down my Wix site yesterday and it's a weight off my mind. The bill always arrived just before Christmas (for Christ's sake), and it never felt like good value for money. Then I discovered https://boycottwix.org/ and knew I had to ditch them as soon as feasibly possible.

This year I've subscribed to a small number of regular emails that I actually want to read, and wondered if this kind of platform (a newsletter and website rolled into one!) would be a better fit for my creative work. Enter, Waymarkers.

When you own a website there's an annoying need to keep it relevant, but who is looking at my art site anyway, so what's the point? I know there are people out there who are interested in reading about what I'm doing (hello, thank you, you are appreciated) and I'm optimistic that they will subscribe. Other than that, I want to drop announcements and post pictures (and fast!), and have somewhere to keep my Artist Bio. I want to tell you about my projects and processes, write about the art-life balance and, maybe, give you access to exclusive stuff, like collaborations and the opportunity to buy work or have something made by me. Neither of us know yet, but hopefully I can make this a habit and we will both find out.

I'm a very self-conscious writer, so, just so you know, this does make me nervous. I was a decent writer at school though, so like all things worth doing, I might just need to practice.
