Exhibition Announcement

The InBetween // Stoddart Cottage // Until Sunday 26 January
'The space between things is not empty', noted the author, Don Miguel Ruiz. In this group exhibition, Katie Hallam, Casey Macaulay, Tessa Warburton, Kris Waldin, Celia Wilson and Jo Ernsten explore the question of what resides in the between spaces ‘things’. Using printmaking, watercolour, acrylic, oil, organic pigment, sculpture and installation, they surprise, challenge and bring to attention what might otherwise go overlooked in liminal spaces.
The women artists of this group show met in 2021 at Oxford Gallery Toi o Waimakariri, where they conceived and developed their own projects as part of the ‘Open House’ 10-week residency. The group’s approach to art making is diverse and encompassing different age groups and stages in practice, to differing genres including the formal, the contemporary and the experimental and varied approaches to their subject matter.
All are welcome to the opening celebration on Saturday 11 January, 2 - 4pm.
Wine sponsored by Main Divide.
